We went for a walk on the pedestrian bridge and the mayflies were swarming by the thousands all around the lamps on the bridge. Their bodies littered the pavement and fell into the river below. There, in the faint light that flickered with the shadows of the frenzied, mating insects, about 100 Canada geese + one female mallard silently paddled the rushing waters, urgently scooping up mouthfuls of mayflies.
Two years ago, I used to run into this person all the time who looked like the stereotype of a vampire (and was Russian), so I started to toot my encounters every time I ran into them.
Then, witches.town imploded and though I remember requesting and downloading my archive, it is nowhere to be found.

It's been more than a year since I got my first account on dot social, but almost exactly a year since I started posting regularly on account of being banned from the bird site for excessive misandry, just as I was going thru a hysterectomy
For real though y'all are wonderful & I'm so grateful this place exists!
Guerrilla's guide to surviving French:
- say "euhhhhhhhhhh" to everything, it seems like you understood
- If unsure tu vs vous, just avoid verbs all together. "Comment t'appelles-tu?" is now just "Nom?" voilà
- contemplate running into the mountains where no one can ever speak to you again
Trust me, I'm an expert. J'suis la meilleure guide pour les anglophones qui doivent interagir avec des francophones.
