If anyone ever finds the image descriptions on my game related posts to be too sparse, please let me know. I'm new to writing those and I'm never sure how much detail is enough. Thank you!

Game graphics trivia:
That colorful VGA title screen from Prince of Persia? It's only 16 colors. That mean the same asset could be used in DOS, Amiga, and Atari ST versions without any changes, as was common at the time (1990).
Here is the screen across 3 platforms & its palette:

Wandering Flame, my favorite track from my favorite Final Fantasy game. I feel like it encapsulates the general feel of the setting and the storyline perfectly.

Today is the 20th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

I still remember that day back in 2002 when I walked out of the store with a new copy in hand, not even knowing what to expect when I got home with it.

It was my first experience with The Elder Scrolls series and I've enjoyed it ever since.

Another World (also known as Out of This World in North America) is a cinematic platformer designed by Éric Chahi and released in 1991 for the Amiga and Atari ST, and later ported to a variety of other computer systems and consoles.

The "show, don't tell" style of storytelling is one of my favorite things about it, and it's one of the earliest games I remember playing which convinced me that video games are most definitely an art form.

The purest interactions on Mastodon are people asking you if it's okay for them to follow you 🥰

is an action-RPG developed by and released for the in 1995. It unfortunately never saw an official English NTSC release, but that didn't stop it from becoming a cult classic.

Despite being self-contained, it also serves as the final part of a "loose trilogy" of games preceded by Soulblazer and Illusion of Gaia (Illusion of Time in Europe.)

Personally, it's one of the best and most emotionally resonant video games I've played. I highly recommend it.

One of the best aspects of Mastodon so far is that it actually feels like real, human interaction again. I feel like I've actually chatted with people more in my few days here than I ever did in my years of using corporate social media.

2400 A.D. is an RPG designed by Chuck Bueche of Origin Systems in 1988 for the Apple II and ported to DOS for IBM compatible PCs. It's set in a bizarre, somewhat humorous future where an alien race has subjugated humanity by way of robotic forces.

I have many fond memories of playing this when I was very young, but I never came close to finishing it. It's been on my to-do list for a while to revisit this game, and I think I'll be doing that when time permits!

So, intro posts! Here's mine, finally:

Hi! I'm a huge nerd and my primary hobby is video games, though I also enjoy many other things including books, film, music and the study of spirituality. I'm also what I'd consider an advanced Linux user, and I enjoy messing around with computers in a variety of ways.

I'm trans, I'm a lesbian, and I'm a bit of a clown. I truly believe that laughter is the best medicine sometimes.
