people in the comp sci class are talking about if you should wear a suit for programming jobs and im like

all the professional programmers i know wear cat ears and skirts

none

@chemelia if you can't get the job wearing normal clothes, fuck it. not worth it.

none

@chemelia I only wear suits for interviews. Once I've got the job, they're lucky I don't show up wearing nothing but ankle socks, bikini briefs, and heavy metal band tees.

death, re: none

@fullstackthaumaturge @chemelia I only wear suits for funerals – the only occasion sadder than a job

death, re: none

@kescher @chemelia I wear suits to funerals, too, but since I've only ever attended my enemies' funerals they're hardly sad occasions.

none

@chemelia Anybody who comes in wearing a suit is definitely regarded with suspicion

none

@Tak @chemelia Yeah, there's a definite air of inverted snobbery: the more confident you are in your technical skills, the less you have to dress up to try to appear respectable.

@chemelia
🔫 :dragnyell: put on the striped thigh highs

@chemelia
They say to dress for the job you want, not the job you have.
